Lucy Parker, Rachel Pimm and Katie Schwab will each present a body of newly-commissioned work. They were among a number of artists nominated by Jerwood Visual Arts’ former Writers in Residence, and were selected by Sarah Williams, Head of Programme, and Oliver Fuke, Gallery Manager. Each artist will have a solo presentation in one of the three galleries at Jerwood Space.
Lucy Parker, nominated by George Vasey, will be presenting new film work based on her in-depth research into the practice of ‘blacklisting’.
Rachel Pimm, nominated by Chris Fite-Wassilak, will show a moving image installation relating to her studies into the proximity of plastics and water.
Katie Schwab, nominated by George Vasey and Alice Butler, is producing a mixed-media installation piece inspired by the work of twentieth-century female printmakers.
