Derby Theatre and In Good Company will deliver a programme of paid Producer Residencies. Eight early-career producers across two years will be supported to develop their professional practice in a meaningful and practical way, with a focus on recruiting and addressing a need for producers from the Global Majority and those with other protected characteristics. The residencies will provide high quality training, opportunities to work directly with experienced producers and artists, whilst also benefiting from a new network and post-residency support programme to grow and develop their careers.
Sarah Brigham, Chief Executive and Artistic Director of Derby Theatre and Emily Coleman, Consultant Producer of In Good Company said,
“In Good Company and Derby Theatre are delighted to be joining forces to present this innovative new scheme aimed at developing the diversity of producers who are helping artists to make work and shining a light on new producers whose work often happens behind the scenes.
