Amy’s work aims to bridge the gap between audience and performer, creating an intimacy between the two. Amy co-runs theatre company Votive Theatre with writer Katrina Bennett.
Amy assisted director Giles Croft in 2019 in a collaboration between the Nottingham New Theatre and Lakeside Arts whilst still at university. Since then, she has worked with companies such as Sheffield Theatres, Royal Exchange, Derby Theatre, National Theatre and the Young Vic, and their shows have been performed at venues such as the Curve Theatre, Shopfront Theatre and Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Amy is currently the Literary Assistant at the Bush Theatre and reads for the George Devine Award and Royal Shakespeare Company.
Votive Theatre explores ideas of bodily autonomy, the queer experience, and bridging the gap between performer and audience. They use collaborative techniques and technology to make work that challenges form and aims to create intimacy with the audience. Votive Theatre were chosen to be part of Barrel Organ and Company in 2022 and their debut show CHOOSE YOUR FIGHTER has been performed at festivals such as the National Student Drama Festival, Shoot Festival and SHOUT Festival, developed with the support of the Arts Council and Derby Theatre.
Amy has been supported by Jerwood New Work Fund 2022 and The Young Vic: Accessing New Technologies programme 2021.
