During this time she will explore the Rosalinde and Arthur Gilbert Collection at the V&A which celebrates some of the most beautiful objects ever made, many in precious materials, and often on a small scale. It is famous for its selection of snuffboxes made of gold and silver, highly decorated with various precious stones, enamels and mosaics. Silvia will explore these boxes and their histories in order to produce her own 21st century chest.
We supported Silvia Weidenbach in 2012 through Jerwood Makers Open. Alumni of the scheme who have previously been in residence at the V&A on the renowned Ceramic Residency include: Adam Buick, Nao Matsunaga, Kieth Harrison and James Rigler.
