Salena Barry is Jerwood Writer in Residence from July 2022 – December 2022. This is her response to Heather Agyepong‘s work ego death, commissioned as part of Jerwood/Photoworks Awards 4. Iman Osman is an artist and Jerwood Writer in Residence Editor. She has collaborated with Salena Barry to create a soundscape to complement her reading.
The more I see the mass floating menacingly under the crepe-thin surface, the more I want to pierce the barrier. The more I want to let it out, let me in. The more I want to become whole.
