In addition to offering a schedule of year round engagement opportunities to those in its local community of Lambeth and Southwark, as an artist led theatre The Young Vic also has a strong commitment to providing opportunities for professionals to develop their craft.

The Young Vic’s Directors Program continues to lead the way in artistic development almost 20 years after its launch and the Jerwood Assistant Directors Program is a vital part of the scheme. The role of the Directors Program is to provide directors, predominantly at an early stage in their careers, with the support and opportunities they need to progress. Each year five emerging directors are offered mentorship, training and paid positions within its team.

Future opportunities will be advertised through the Genesis Directors Network.
