We have supported the festival’s artist development strands SPILL National Platform and Showcase since 2011. In alternating years, the Platform in Ipswich offered opportunities for 35 artists to present work, 10 of whom were chosen to follow a development pathway in the lead up to the Showcase in London the following year.
From 2016 onwards SPILL draws all of its activity into a single biennial event, held in Ipswich. Our support goes towards an extended development offer, the SPILL Artist and Producer Development Programme 2016-2018, which includes opportunities for six writers in residence and five producers alongside opportunities for 35 artists to trial work as in previous years. From these 35 artists, three receive a SPILL Platform Commission and present developed work at SPILL 2018.
