Addressing many practical challenges facing artists working in rural Wales, National Theatre Wales’ new Creative Development Framework will promote sustainable artists’ lives across Wales providing professional development and opportunities to make new work and share it with audiences and communities. Our support is for a strand of this programme which will support artists alongside producers.
Our support has enabled seven Located Residencies to take place in specific locations in 2018, providing artists the time and support to develop new ideas which may allow them to push artistic boundaries and/or find a departure from their current practice whilst embedded in landscape or community. Two Emerging Producers will work on and run the residencies, receiving structured professional development support throughout.
The artists supported to from 2018-2019 through Located Residencies and Emerging Producers will are Karina Jones, Daniel Settatree, Catherine Dyson, Hefin Jones, Anastacia Ackers, Patrick Jones, Jac Ifan Moore, Sita Thomas and Alison John.
