Our support is for early stage research and development of Lil.Miss.Lady, new concept-rave exploring the history of Grime music through the eyes of a female MC. The work will be developed in collaboration with Latitude festival and Roundhouse where it will be showcased as it develops. This will be a step up in scale for the collective, who we first supported through Cardboard Citizen’s Home Truths programme to make Merryville in 2016.
HighRise Theatre
Lill.Miss.Lady
HighRise are a theatre collective who seek to spark conversation and build bridges between forgotten communities by representing the rhythm of the streets. Its core aim is to use inner-city memories, culture and music to give the unheard a voice through theatre making acclaimed shows and connecting with several communities across London. HighRise’s style is energetic, physical, innovative, poetic and colloquial – using Hip Hop and Grime music on top of extreme play as a vehicle to tell honest stories from multicultural backgrounds.
