Sound and radio artist Magz Hall who is currently exhibiting work as part of Jerwood Open Forest (at Jerwood Space until 11 December) has been shortlisted for The British Composer Awards. She joins eight other friends and alumni of Jerwood Charitable Foundation, including Mark Bowden, a British composer of chamber, orchestral and vocal music. We supported Mark with a Small Grant in 2015 to undertake a research onsite at CERN, the site of the Hadron Collider, for a new oratorio commissioned by BBC National Orchestra of Wales.
Others include: Luke Bedford, who was part of London Sinfonietta’s Jerwood Series 3 (recording), Jerwood Opera Writing Fellowships and has worked with previously supported company Mahogany Opera Group; Jonathan Dove, a tutor on Jerwood Opera Writing Programme at Aldeburgh Music; Emily Howard who was part of PRS for Music Foundation’s New Music Bienniel in 2012 and also worked with Mahogany Opera Group; Anna Meredith who was part of London Sinfonietta’s Jerwood Series 5 (recording); Claudia Molitor who was part of London Sinfonietta’s Jerwood Series 6 (recording); and Hannaa Tuulikki who participated in a Jerwood Residency at Cove Park in 2014.
