Dance4 selects producers for Re-Framing Dance

Dance4 is an international centre for the development of extraordinary 21st century dance. A unique voice in the UK dance sector, its work supports artists and practitioners who are interested in the development of dance.

With a desire to bring about new opportunities for choreographic practices to meet the public, Re-Framing Dance is an action research project. Part one of the project will support residencies for independent producers to invite curators, artists and Dance4 into a process to undertake choreographic research exploring the possibilities to create new work that invites audiences to see, experience and potentially participate in choreographic art works sited in gallery contexts.

The programme is supported by mentors, as well as Dance4’s experienced team, who are encouraging the producers to think beyond what they know, to seek out innovative new approaches and explore new models for the delivery of such projects.

The selected producers are:

Claricia Parinussa with Lakeside Arts/University of Nottingham

Rosa Postlethwaite with National Justice Museum

Nora-Swantje Almes with Primary

Dance4 is one of 20 UK organisations receiving grants through Jerwood Arts’ Development Programme Fund, announced on 2 December 2019.
