Driven by an ecological urgency, she now hopes to expand her creative and media practice to explore themes of nature, travel and society. She’d also like to highlight the contributions that women and people of colour can make to conversations about the future of our planet.

This exploration will coincide with a period of artistic and personal reflection around legacy and lifestyle as Winnie is due to give birth to her first child in December 2019.

Winnie’s Jerwood Bursary will allow her to receive career coaching from Spread the Word, informal mentorship from nature writer Robert Macfarlane, and attend the Kendal Mountain Literature Festival in 2020.
