Nicola Woodham’s practice is live and recorded vocal performance, working with vocal free-improvisation, experimental electronics, percussion, pedal-based noise.

She recently performed at noise=noise event NnnnN [[uncancelled]], Noizemaschin #17 both in London and Sounds Like THIS, at Leeds College of Music. Recent releases are Magickal Intent EP and audio cassette/poster release of Testament of Camera 26 album also she installed Symbiont, a drawings installation for Dronica noise event, Old Church Stoke Newington, London.

Nicola’s Jerwood Bursary will support activity which involves drawing up a plan for using sensors in live vocal performance, in collaboration with a mentor. Nicola will focus on wearable e-textiles that allow her to use physical gestures to trigger sounds. Nicola’s aims are to code independently and develop her visibility as a female performer.
