Laura’s interdisciplinary and research-based works have been exhibited 2016-2019 at: V&A, London; The British Museum, London with Block Universe; Kettle’s Yard, Cambridge; The Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology, London; Invisible Dust, Hull City of Culture; Delfina Foundation, London; and Site Gallery, Sheffield.
The Jerwood New Work Fund will support Laura to challenge her practice by incorporating the spoken word into her artworks through a new work titled ‘Gutted’. This new script and performance will investigate what goes on inside our stomach. Her research will look at the digestive process and bring to life the functions of gastric juice and amino acids. The proposed work builds on Wilson’s ongoing interest in our bodies and our interactions with the world around us.
