Katy’s Jerwood Bursary will support attendance on an intensive training course for artists and facilitators working with young people. Company Three are an accessible, forward thinking, contemporary youth activist theatre company. They engage throughout a number of London Boroughs and connect with community and education leaders to find those who need and want these opportunities.
Katy believes these opportunities should be accessible all over the country, specifically in the North-East where there is a thirst for opportunity. This course will enable Katy to strengthen their practice and bring this learning back to the region. It will influence Katy’s freelance work with local communities, companies and theatres in the region. It will also help to strengthen the case for establishing something more permanent offered in the region.
