Dharma’s work is pre-occupied with the notion of separate realities and parallel lands, exploring sources ranging from technology, poetry, ancient civilizations and the dynamic differences in cultures.
Dharma’s Jerwood Bursary will fund research and development for a series of hand-woven tapestries illustrated from photographs of her childhood hometown during the late 80s-early 90s documenting the original style of architecture, interior, her family as they lived there and the surrounding landscapes to create woven tapestry scenes in the interests of preserving this unique period in social history through the medium of textiles.
