Determined to expand the parameters of visual storytelling, the Washington Post hosted this open call using the Visura platform to connect with professional photographers worldwide.
The Open Call is an exclusive opportunity for photographers who are Visura members to submit visual stories depicting daily life including, but not limited to, climate change, environment, gun control, the human condition, politics, and culture – from anywhere in the world. They were particularly interested in the visual stories Visura members were photographing where they live.
The selection committee was led by The Washington Post Editorial Team led byMaryAnne Golon/ Director of Photography with Dee Swann/ Senior Photo Editor for Digital Engagement and Kenneth Dickerman/ In Sight Photo Editor, & Chloe Coleman/ Foreign and Outlook Photo Editor at The Washington Post.
We supported Alejandra Carles-Tolra through the Jerwood/Photoworks Awards.
The winners and honorable mentions have received an invitation to feature the winning project or a new project on The Washington Post In Sight photo blog.
